Mrs. Kelly's Bee 1.5

Hey friends! This week went really well! My goal was to get into the school and work on the outline of the bee and all went according to plan! I went in on Wednesday, the day we got off early, which worked great because my mom's class got out at the same time. I took Karsyn with me and we hung out with my mom and it was super fun! I used a black sharpie to go over the pencil lines. It worked pretty well, but it seemed like the pencil underneath affected how well the sharpie was working. It could have also been the wall that was causing problems, so I had to use a few different markers to keep the color dark. Depending on how it looks when I go back, I might go over it again.  This next week, I would like to get back into her room to work on final details, like coloring in the stripes and fixing anything that I need to. So... my bee is going to done way earlier than I had first thought. As I was telling my mom this she had a great idea! Earlier she had told me that she wanted ...

Hey guys! This week was super successful! With the extra week and the four day weekend, I found time to get into my mom’s classroom. To start, I gave my mom a couple pages full of bees I had drawn and let her pick. And of course, she picked the realistic one. So I copied it onto another paper by itself so it could be easier to put on a clear page. The next step was to get into the school and get the drawing on the wall.  Here are the steps I took: I drew the bee my mom wanted on it’s own page.  My mom helped me transfer the drawing on to a clear page.  I found a dusty projecter in the storage room and my mom and I made a red neck stand to get the image where she wanted it on the wall.  I then traced the bee on the wall using just a pencil to get an outline.  This is the final drawing from what I traced using the projecter. Don’t mind my fingerprints all over the wall. Oops.  The biggest problem I ran into was getting the drawing to look the way I wanted it ...

Mrs. Kelly's Busy Bee 1.3

What's buzzin my busy bees? This week has definitely gone off of my original plan of where I wanted to be and what I wanted to accomplish. I have missed quite a bit of school lately so, I'm behind in most of my classes. The weekends are the only time I have to work on genius hour and this weekend I was working, so I had no time. But, I did have to run to the store, so while I was there, I looked over in the paint section to see what was there. I quickly realized that I was going to have to do a little research on the best kind of paint to use. I'm guessing regular acrylic paint might not work.     My plan for the following week is to get into my mom's classroom this weekend and get some stuff figured out. I will get a final drawing done and figure out which paint to use. Next week, we won't have school on Thursday or Friday, so I hope to get some painting done. Good luck this week!

Mrs. Kelly Bee 1.2

Hello my fellow bloggers! This past week I have been struggling a bit to find time to work on my project, but I did manage to work a bit on my drawing skills. I decided that before I go painting on a wall, I should probably have a good idea of how I am going to draw my bee. watched a few YouTube tutorials on how to draw a basic bee. If you can't already tell, I am severely lacking in the artistic department. Some of them are slightly terrifying, and one of them has a massive noggin. I also tried to draw a more realistic one, and for me I thought it didn't turn out too bad.      This next week, I will actually head over to my mom's school and see where she would like me to put the painting. I would also like to get a final drawing of the bee that I am going to put on the wall. My mom also mentioned that she would like me to put the quote, "BEE Kind" under the bee, because that is the motto in her classroom. So, I will eventually have to work a lit...
