Mrs. Kelly's Bee 1.8

Hey guys! What's buzzin'? Welcome back to another week of my painting progress! This week was so awesome. I got to finish all my painting and get the letters my mom wanted underneath it! I am super happy with how it turned out and my mama really likes it as well so that's a win! I definitely had some struggles this week and ended up spending many hours in the school trying to get my project done, and because I have a little bit of my mom's perfectionism, I wanted to make everything as perfect as I could get it.

I was a little concerned with getting into the school this week because I am quarantined at the moment, but I was able to come in after everyone was gone and I wore a mask the whole time. Don't worry I'm responsible most of time! I ended up going over the wings again, thickening the lines and making everything a little more even and that made it look much neater. I then brought my mom's Cricut to the school for a crash course, and of course her computer was not working so I ran home and got the computer she usually uses and after some struggle, we were able to get it working again. Below are some steps and pictures of my adventure with the Cricut.

Here, I measured the letters so they were the correct size for the under the bee.

I then had to place a piece of vinyl on a mat that was very sticky and slid it into the Cricut machine. I pressed start and it started cutting away!

I then had to "weed" the extra vinyl off by peeling the excess away from the letters.

Then I placed the letters on the wall where I wanted them. The clear tape I am peeling off is called transfer tape and that stuff was so sticky that when it got stuck on my sweatshirt I could barely get it off!

Here is me with the final project!

The final result!

Overall, I am so happy with how this turned out. I tried my best to follow my action plan but it was not perfect. My main goal was for my mom to be happy with it and she was really excited when she saw the final project so I'm happy. I had so much fun with this Genius Hour and I got to spend quite a bit of time with my mom and I am very grateful for that. I am really excited to hear about everyone else's projects!
